What to Expect on your First Visit

We know that visiting a new church can be overwhelming. Here at South Point Church of Christ, we are dedicated to providing a warm and welcoming environment. When you enter the doors you will be greeted by smiling faces that are eager to meet you and make your visit as comfortable as possible! We love the Lord our God with all of our heart, all of our soul, all of our mind, and all of our strength and we'd love to share that with you.

A typical worship service is laid out below.

Announcements

We begin with updates on local events and news within our congregation.

Praises

We then sing a few songs to praise our Lord and to encourage one another. "speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord" Ephesians 5:19

Opening Prayer

After a couple songs, we will have our opening prayer.

Communion

Following another song we will have communion with one another. This sacred time for Christs followers allows us to remember Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, as we follow the example of the early church. "For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lords death until he comes. 1 Corinthians 11:26

Sermon

After another song, we have a message brought to the congregation. It's a time for reflection, learning, and spiritual growth.

Invitation

At the end of our service we offer an invitation to anyone that may not be in the fold of Christ. If you are in need of prayer or would like to be baptized for the forgiveness of your sins, we welcome you to come forward and share your needs with us. "Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."" Acts 2:38

36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And He said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the great and [a]foremost commandment. 39 The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:36-40
